Luma

Terms and conditions

Last updated: November 5, 2026

By creating an account or using Luma, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Service description

Luma is an app for organising personal and family finances: accounts, income, expenses, recurring payments, savings goals and shared household contributions.

Luma is not a bank or financial institution. It never holds, moves, transfers or safeguards money, does not connect to your bank accounts and does not process payments between people. You record all the information yourself.

Requirements for use

  • An active Luma account.
  • A compatible device (iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later, or Android 7.0 or later).
  • An internet connection.
  • Being old enough to accept these terms in your country.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account. You can sign in on several devices and turn on biometric sign-in on each one. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password or use “Sign out of all devices”.

Luma is not liable for third parties misusing your credentials.

Family groups

With Luma Premium you can create or join groups. What you record in a group (shared expenses, group accounts, group goals) is visible to its current members. Your personal finances stay private: you only share your totals for contribution calculations if you consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Contribution, balance and reimbursement calculations are a reference based on the data members record. Luma does not guarantee they reflect enforceable debts and does not replace agreements between people.

Payment and Premium access

Personal features are free. Luma Premium is a one-time payment of USD 2.99 (or the equivalent in your currency and taxes per store), with no subscription or recurring charges, giving lifetime access for as long as the service exists.

The purchase is made through the App Store or Google Play and is linked to your Luma account, so you can recover it on other devices by signing in or with “Restore purchases”. Access is personal and non-transferable; reselling accounts is not allowed.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store where you purchased (Apple or Google) under their policies. If a purchase is refunded or revoked, Premium access is turned off.

Acceptable use

You may not use Luma for illegal activities, attempt to breach its security, interfere with the service, access other people’s data, or copy, decompile or reverse engineer the app.

Not financial advice

Luma provides organisational tools. The information it shows is not financial, tax or legal advice. Decisions you make based on it are your responsibility.

Intellectual property

Luma’s design, interface, code and brand belong to its creator. The data you record is yours.

Service availability

Luma is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features. We will make reasonable efforts to give advance notice of important changes.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Luma is not liable for data loss, interruptions, errors in recorded information, issues with third-party services (such as Apple, Google or your email provider) or indirect damages.

Termination and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Security → Delete account, or by following the instructions on this page. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its date. If you keep using Luma after a change, you accept the updated version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala, without prejudice to the rights granted to you by consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
